ECC Newsletter 11/18/22

Hello Early Childhood Families,

I hope that everyone has had a wonderful week!  Just a reminder that we do have school next Monday and Tuesday.  If your child is going to be absent, please call the absence line (630)937-8003 and let them know that your child will not be at school that day(s).  Thank you and we hope that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!

The EC Lottery is open for the 23-24 school year.  If you have a child who will be 3 on or before September 1st, you can use this link to sign them up for the lottery.  The lottery will close on January 27th at 4 PM.  If your child is currently in the EC Program, you do not need to sign them up they will be grandfathered into the program.  Here is the link for Lottery Sign Up

Snow Day Information for 2022-23

As we approach the time of the year when winter storms and extreme temperatures are likely, you might want to review our emergency closing information. During the 2022-23 school year, we will pivot to a remote learning day rather than closing schools whenever possible.

Yesterday, in your child’s black folder, your child should have brought home a packet of papers with some winter activities that can be done if we need to pivot to a remote learning day.

SAVE THE DATE:  Gingerbread Jamboree is coming on December 21st during your student’s school day.  This is a time for a special adult or 2 (Mom, Dad, Grandma/pa, Aunt/Uncle or Baby sitter) to join their students and explore a variety of math and literacy activities that are Gingerbread related.  This is meant to be a special time for your preschool student and their special adult(s) so no siblings are allowed.  Infants that are worn in a carrier are fine, but no strollers please.  More information will be coming as we get closer to the day.

Upcoming Dates:

Thanksgiving Break November 23rd-25th

Please feel free to reach out and contact me with any questions or concerns.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Information from the PTO

We have launched our annual fun run fundraiser, The 2022 Mike Park Fun Run.  The fun run will be held December 15 after school.  Details will be released in the coming weeks in the Gator Gazette, on our facebook page, and on our newly updated website, agspto.org.

If you allowed the release of your contact information to school partnership programs in Power School, you have received an email from 99pledges for each of your students at AGS/EC.  If you have not received an email (and it’s not in your spam folder) and your student would like to participate, you can add him or her at https://app.99pledges.com/fund/themikeparkfunrun2022/addme.

Fifth grader Grace Horn’s winning design will be featured on this year’s fun run t-shirt.  Our three runner-ups will be featured on Facebook and on our Fun Run page at agspto.org/funrun starting next week.

This year’s Fall Scholastic Book Fair will run November 28 through December 1.  Please check your Gator Gazettes, Facebook, and agspto.org for details.
